The trick in a 'high stakes' match (really any play for cash -- money play, match play, or chouette) between any two players is to balance the stakes such that they are meaningful to both players. The stakes can't be so comparatively high as to unduly burden the shallower pocket nor so comparatively low as to render play/cube decisions meaningless to the deeper pocket.
