"In money games only, it would be useful to have a “Settlement” button that allowed a game to end with an arbitary amount of game points for a specific player, at any time, thus disregarding the actual cube value?"

I guess it might -- but you might also start to feel like you're building in so many little options and settings and routines for doing rare/unusual things that your app starts to feel bloated and unwieldy.

I don't mean to discourage this sort of project at all, but sometimes it's hard to beat pencils and papers for doing things like keeping score in a chouette. Is it really going to feel more easy & convenient to be fiddling with an app during a chouette where people are coming and going, sitting out a few games, accepting "automatic doubles" with player X who requested on but not players y and z? Simplicity of use is a real virtue in these kinds of apps, and you can sacrifice a lot of appeal by trying to do too much.

I'm reminded of the advent of computerized scoring in bowling, which for me ruined a lot of the 'going bowling' experience. Instead of clipping those fun scoresheets to the table, coming up with funny names for players, and drawing moustaches on the faces of the barbers advertizing in the margins, I'd have to settle down in front of a computer-screen and figure out how it worked. Once you got it set up, it became a big production if someone went to the bathroom and you wanted to skip his turn. I was never a regular / serious bowler, so I never got used to the thing, and it just made me not want to go anymore. (Plus, no fun scoresheet to put on your refrigerator when you got home!
