We did the Beer & Backgammon thing on a separate day, just because we wanted to have it at a busy place on the weekend at a hip local brewery that is close to our state college, plus it allowed us to focus just on them. But, a beginner event could certainly be combined with your club night.

Beyond drawing beginners to our OWN events, we also go out to OTHER events. We have done backgammon demos at the MN Science Museum and offered mini lessons at a local science fiction event that has a lot of people who play all sorts of games. We also plan on reaching out to a local board game focused coffee shop that has gaming demos to ask if they would promote a backgammon learning night there.
