Well if the first point is valid ("Something that draws the strongest players in the world which in turns draws more of your average, every day player") then in turn you should take care of the Giants correct?

You ask "What evidence is there for it?". I can give you only the word of mouth evidence, no hard numbers. I speak to backgammon people often enough, esp. in the realm of giving lessons. When talking about upcoming tournaments I often hear "The Japanese conglomerate is going to be there" or "I hear Falafel is going" etc..It is said with a certain exuberance or zest that leads me to believe people care if the Giants are showing up and it has some factor in whether or not they attend. Or, to put it another way, an event like Denmark v. the World is something people love to be part of, to watch, to witness. Surely having such an event would help your attendance outside of those specific players attending wouldn't it?
