What I meant was that this position is structurally better for Blue than the OP because of the increased flexibility .... But recirculating the checker is a positive gain for Blue.
I'm not seeing that, for the reason Chase mentioned: the spares on the 6 point are not out of play; they're going to be used to make the 4, 3 and 2 points; they don't need to be recirculated. As soon as Blue uses one of the spares to make a point or hit, which is very likely, he'll have one spare left on that point, which will be better placed on the six point than, as in your altered position, on the 23 point.

Agreed. This is not a position in which, and 6-3 is not one of those awkward rolls with which, Blue needs to dump checkers in order to preserve a prime. They do come up, though, sometimes, in snake positions.
