XG1 could indeed be handful or handless, but the path you describe leads nowhere in XG2.

Since this thread is developing into micro-tweaks to XG2, rather than brainstorming how an XG3 could help people play better backgammon, I'll give my own pet peeve: the way it is defaulted to final position, rather than initial position. Pressing 'initial' only lasts one game, and then you have to mouse-fiddle yet again.
