I was rather disappointed by the article. I spoke with the author at length, and sent him several of my articles and several references. It was hard to compete with ideas that he picked up from somewhere, that backgammon players wanted to have tournaments of error rates instead of actually playing backgammon (which would kill the game, and would not be a great test anyway, as I explained). Perhaps the only things that I told him that made it into the article was the example of the Bushes liking backgammon, and that Backgammon For Blood contains terrible advice.
