Priority One: the Split

Having lost control in the outfield, I think the priority here is to move up with the back checkers. My preference is to play two up from the 24pt, V = 24/23 24/22, with U = 24/21 as my second choice.

I like V because it targets both back checkers on White’s stripped points in the outfield. It may freeze them, or at least provide good return shots if White breaks one of them to hit.

Slotting, splotting, or simply making the 5pt all seem too risky, because they entail leaving a direct shot on the 5pt or 7pt. That could be an overreach for Blue at a time when he leads in the race.
