Proper Cube Action

I think its because of the double jeopardy mostly, but also a semi pay now or pay later problem too - you pay now in order to prevent future problems, and there are some real horror show rolls if you choose not to hit - think 64 or 55 as the follow up parlays. Every hitting parlay following a non-hit from white will lose you the game, and possibly a gammon if you dont hit. Theres also the race, hitting knocks the race out of the park, and not hitting just leaves not only immediate hitting jokers, but more effective large doubles (44,55,66).
It feels pretty clear to me - the danger on upcoming rolls is not just the immediate shots, but all the pain and suffering of future shots. Race is important here too, and getting rid of that checker on your 3pt is critical to success.
