A bye in a 6 player event is HUGE equity swing. We can leave it to random luck or we can do the right thing, IMO, and play down to 3 players and figure it out from there.

The event may be short enough to play a RR, but half the time the RR will tie so then what do you do? Go right to DMP matches and do a RR and it will have to end sometime?

For me it makes complete sense and I thought this was being standardized (it certainly is in Pat Gibson's T's) do draw for the bye and then use compensation to equalize the remaining 3 players' equity.

I would've suggested this to Neal and likely convinced him, but I arrived considerably after the Masters started and honestly didn't pay any attention to it and may have been too late to try to change anything anyhow.
