It is an actual problem. Maybe not in math la la land but in real world parlance.

One is a norm - you don't get your bye at the start and you are in the same spot after round 1.

The other way there is a redraw and one person is... poof... In the finals. While one of the other 2 people may never even cash having had a 1/3 chance of randomly cashing.
