No rating is perfect. There were enough complains with ELO in chess too. But it's something objective. And it will be interesting for bg crowd if chess history of ELO be used as example. Agreed on all points about development of the game. That's the key. But I don't think it contradicts creation of a rating that is based on tournament results and player strength
