Back Game Checker Play

What we don't need to do in my nsho:

  • We don't need to hit the blot on the 23pt. It's in a bad spot and hitting it at this point would hurt our timing when we have no real chance for immediate containment.
  • We certainly aren't giving up the 20pt anchor to hit.
  • Anchoring up, while usually a good idea in backgames, is not so valuable here since the opponent own the bar point and is already semi close to home. A deeper anchor is better esp. when the point in front of it is not filled in.

Given all of that 16, 5 seems clear to me. Put the checkers where they belong. We aren't hit, great, we build our board quickly. We are hit, who cares, the opponent has no board and it helps our timing.
