Isn't the main impact of the score to reduce your recube vig (smaller window)?

Despite the rollout result, I have a hard time seeing this as a proper take against a 3PR stronger opponent (seems like a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy). And I would expect that you'd win more against XG by dropping.
