Mary said: "having inexplicable delays loading pages, especially with Chrome.". I use Win8.1 as my primary Windows OS now, and don't experience slow page loads at all. Maybe you have another problem? Problem connecting to DNS servers? An extension that is interfering? If you load a page in an incognito window is it as slow?
