There's a dramatic difference in look and feel with win8, but I can see it being the way forwards. I would go with win8 if I were you. I installed a piece of software to emulate windows7 - complete with start menu etc., and I must say, that keeps me happy (still have access to the metro interface, but everything else looks like win7 to me).
