Just as I posted that Heather dominated a sport possibly more than anyone, I remembered someone else I knew very well, Jimmy Jacobs, the great handball player. According to Wikipedia: "Between 1955 and 1969, he won every national handball competition match he played in." He did not lose a single match, and that is one-wall, three-wall, and four-wall Handball. Many consider him to be the greatest athlete that ever lived.
He excelled at Basketball, Football, Track and Field, Baseball, and Golf, and turned down a chance to play on the US Olympic Basketball team to concentrate on his Handball.
As an aside, Jacobs was the most perfectly physically fit athlete in the world, according to Sports Illustrated, and he was a highly-respect boxing trainer and trained many world champions in several weight classes. One of the people he trained turned out to be a pretty good fighter: Mike Tyson.
He was recognized by many as the greatest Jewish athlete that ever lived, though some believe Sandy Koufax or Mark Spitz might well qualify for that title
By the way, do you know why so many great backgammon players are Jewish?
Answer: Because their mothers are.
