player 1 needs 50/(50 + 15.8) game winning chances to cube, which is slightly over 75%."

Note that this is the opening percentage of the doubling window and assumes no chance to ever cube again. In practice, you'll normally want to be at least midway between the beginning and end of the doubling window to even consider cubing AtS. However, if this were at least roll situation and no recube was possible, then you'd recalculate the doubling point since you can't be recubed.
