Having said 4-1 got my vote, I'm going to change my mind. Given the overwhelming situational dependence of a roll (i.e. when there is still contact, so that racing value is not the only factor), the non-racing aspects of each possible roll might be so close to each other in equity that the pure racing equities trumps all the other aspects (bg is ultimately a race after all), so now it brings it back to 2-1 being the worst.
