I am sure Bob's comment was tongue in cheek. One reason to still use precision dice is that defective and non-precision dice might roll too many 6's or some other number, and of course, if either play is aware of what roll is more common, he can take advantage of that information.
I don't know the real numbers, but I was told that non-precision dice which carve out the material to make the indentations will roll more sixes because the opposite side with the 1 is going to be slightly heavier than any other side because less of the material has been removed.
Interesting why Bob did not mention why the wooden boxes proved to be far too expensive for me to sell.
