Handicap Backgammon. One start with cube.

Let's say XG plays against XG but one side owns the cube in the starting position. How much edge does this side has?
With a little work, you can determine this exactly. In XG, you can make a rollout of the opening position with the cube on one side or the other. So, here is what you can do. Give the opponent the cube and opening roll, and then roll out all 15 possibilities. Next, give the opponent the cube, but give yourself the opening roll, and, once again, roll out all 15 possibilities. Use a spreadsheet to average the resulting equities.
I hope this answers the question you were asking.
