What is the proper thought process in this DMP prime v prime?

Tim: Thanks for presenting the "visualize what is likely to happen over the course of the next few rolls" thought process. Along with the visualization, would you perform any actual calculations OTB, or would you rely on experience and instinct? When I try to calculate probabilities in prime v prime situations, I quickly realize that it's too complicated for me to do OTB.
