What is the proper thought process in this DMP prime v prime?

The ace is easy. 3/2* knocking him from the edge of the prime.
I don't know which 5 is better. I like 8/3 which keeps the prime and ensures that white has 2 checkers which are not at the edge after my roll. The downside is I duplicate my own 6s and I can get hit from the bar. If I get hit from the bar, it is good to dance, it is decent to come in on the deuce, and it is not so good to enter with an ace, recirculating white's dead checker. All in all the risk from being hit from the bar seems tolerable.
The alternative 5 is to cover the deuce. Here White will fan most of the time and then blue needs to roll a quick 6. Here we don't duplicate our own numbers and there ought to be just enough time to roll a 6 before we can expect to crunch in case white continues to stay out.
I don't know which play is right and because of that I will go with the play I first noticed which is 8/2*.
Nice problem.
