What I said: "I can't believe nobody else felt like tackling this though I imagine for almost all of the non Americans they couldn't care less about the NBA."

What you said: "to say that no one backed you up because Europeans don't follow the NBA is pretty lame and not true.

What I said doesn't seem to align with what you said. Does it to you? Also, it is an indisputable fact that Europeans on the whole could give a rat's ass about the _N_BA finals. I tripped across part of Europe once or twice and the NFL doesn't exist, nor does the NBA. In more recent years it has finally got some coverage because of the mass of channels that's being added to everyone's tv line up but it's a joke to think almost anyone follows it.

Indisputable fact #2. As you already mentioned, only once in history has the ward gone to the player on the losing team and that was the first year. The NFL reflects almost the same pattern. Only once has it been given to the player of the losing team and that was in the early years. Superbowl MVP began in '67 and was awarded in '71 to a Cowboy's player despite their loss. Guess what this Cowboy's player did? Hey, Mr. Chuck Howley, your team just lost the Superbowl but you've won the MVP award! What do you have to say about that?

"Howley, the first non-quarterback to win the MVP award, refused to accept it because it was meaningless to him after his team lost."

It's pretty plain and simple. You win, you have a chance of being the MVP. You lose ... well, you know how valuable you were? Your team could have lost without your help.
