If the first die is a 1, the chances are 5/36.

If the first die is a 2,3,5, or 6, the chances are 11/36 (rolling the needed corresponding number on either of the other two dice) + 3/36 (rolling an eight with the last two dice that does not contain the first dies needed corresponding number).

If the first die is a 4, the odds are 11/36 (rolling a four on either of the other two dice)+ 4/36 ( the chances of rolling an eight with the last two dice, without either being a 4.

In addition you can hit by rolling 2-2-2.

(1/6*5/36) + (4/6*14/36) + (1/6*15/36) + 1/6^3 = .35649
