Akiko is interesting to watch and easy to be blind-sided by. Extremely skilled but she does not play like a bot. Often more of a passive-aggressive kind of backgammon. Against the often overly aggressive or at least offence dominant players aikido backgammon has been very successful. It bears watching. The turks brought surprises in Monaco. Akiko brought them to Vegas.

Beyond simple skill and luck there is still an element of style in the game that is entertaining to watch compete.
