Double elimination tips?

Hi Coolrey, thanks for the tip on when to hedge. Great for future reference, although this competition is Gridgammon based and unfortunately not for cash :)

Good question.. it consisted of two teams of 3. Each team played 3 matches, a 7 pointer, a 9 pointer and an 11 pointer.

Scores in the first two matches were (our scores first) 7-0 5-9

So we went into the final 11 point match 12-9 ahead (needing to lose by no more than 2 points at worst).

This final match was interesting to watch because, as in the board screenshot above, 'incorrectly' taking a cube, and then 'incorrectly' re-cubing was optimal for our opponent under these rules ATS.

Going back to my original post, what were your thoughts on if there are any smart adjustments to be made / tips when playing the Final match #1 in a double elimination?
