Joe Miller asked me to post this for him:
I want to offer a personal invitation to the backgammon community to attend our 22nd annual ABT tournament here in Cleveland Ohio. March 18-20. We are known as "The People-Friendly" tournament for a reason: we do everything possible to be sure everyone has a great time. Yes, like all other major tournaments, we are about having tough competition, but we go the extra mile to make sure everyone just has fun.
We have a lovely hotel, at under $100 a night, close to the airport with free transportation. If you want to come early, we offer a pre-tournament the night before. We don't use clocks and keep the atmosphere casual and fun, but we never have a problem keeping the games moving smoothly.
We offer fun side events, far lower entry fees than most tournaments, a free lecture by USBGF Teaching Pro, Phil Simborg (who will also conduct a unique and fun Calcutta), and we have a highly experienced staff that is there to keep everything running smoothly and everyone happy. And there is added prize money for all divisions for members of the USBGF (you can join at the tournament if you are not already a member.)
Put simply, our goal is to prove that it is possible to play hard and have a relaxing and fun weekend at the same time. For more information, check out our web page at http://www.ohiostatebackgammonclub.com/osbc-2016-abt-event-web-page.html
