When people delay cubing at -3 -1, they hope to get you to pass a cube, so don't fall for that... Only think about dropping when the position gets very gammonish and your GWC fall below 35%. You could try a number of 55 blitz sequences at -3 -1 to get a feel for what becomes a pass and what not:

You lead in the match and split the opening, 55, dance, what doubles are takes and what are passes, and by how much?
