I think that Bob was not disagreeing with your conclusion, and also was not disagreeing with your third reason, since he quoted only your first two reasons. He's disagreeing only with the logic behind your first two reasons.

I actually agree with Bob that the "fairness" argument behind your first two reasons is not compelling. Any kind of grading based on XG is going to be unfair in some sense.

At the same time, I agree that Stick's suggestion of allowing players to pick plays to roll out raises all kinds of logistical issues that aren't worth the hassle. If computing power were not an issue then I think the best way to address Stick's concern would be to do a full rollout of every single decision. One of these days, cloud computing should become cheap enough for this to be a no-brainer.
