Testing Your Chouette Action

The scene: A $5 chouette where Blue is the Captain. There are 5 people on the Captain's Team. These players are at best average open players (~7 PR) or worse with the exception of yours truly. The Captain himself is a 9-10 PR player.

I'm not sure if it matters for the scenario at hand but let's say the Box is also your average open level player. The Box won the opening roll by splitting with a [21].

The rules in place are what I see as standard chouette rules. No consulting until after your cube is turned, beavers are allowed, etc... Now...

Stick doubles!!?

What is the correct play by the Box, take, pass, or beaver?
