PR differencies and winning ratios

This happens to me sometimes. I get an advantage. I make a technically correct double, sometimes even after I have supposedly lost my market because I correctly surmise that my opponent will take. (Sometimes I'm even technically TG/P but I get a take anyway.) The game turns around and my opponent aggressively redoubles when it's technically ND/T.
What would you have me do now? It sounds like Pontiac tends to drop because he doesn't want the cube to get up to 4 against his weak opponent. I say that in many cases the correct thing to do is to take, and that even a fish MET would tell you to take. Furthermore if the game turns around again, it may still be proper for me to double.
I believe it is easy to blunder by overcorrecting cube action and that this is a plausible explanation for pontiac's troubles. After all, bots don't adjust and they still do OK against anybody.
