In Response To: Opening Replies: 62R-11 vs. 63R-11 vs. 64R-11 (Igor)

I'm glad that Mike translated the diagrammed rollout results into nacbracs, here. He saved me the work. :)

I was going to include a link to my GammonLife series for double 1s opening replies. However, evidently I never got around to submitting the article contrasting the 62R-11, 63R-11 and 64R-11 replies, nor can I find the raw material that I wrote (so long ago).

Other respondents have mentioned that splitting puts more pressure on an outfield blot that is farther away from being safetied. True. However, I believe the main reason for 64R-11N is that it prevents the back checkers from linking with 64 (as David no doubt understands). It is not possible to similarly block 63 from linking after 63R, nor to block 62 from linking after 62R.

Nack
