still doesn't answer the question

Joe gave a good definition of what precision dice are, but I have the same question that was originally asked. Just because a pair of dice look like they are rounded and look like precision dice, how do you know they truly are? That they have been tested for balance and certified, which I believe is also necessary to be truly classified as precision. I am sure there are loaded dice that look and feel just like precision dice.
I used to love the clear dice with numbers inside...that doesn't prove they are precision but that will certainly make it harder for someone to switch dice on you during a match.
I also like dice engraved from the Turkish Federation or some other recognized organization, but of course, those could be "forged" as well.
A few years ago when some nasty people were showing up with magnets I carried a magnet and always held the dice up to them to see if there was any metal in the dice, but now I only do that when I play MCG because he rolls so well I am suspicious.
