Backgammon Literature - Doubling

Although not dedicated to cubes, Robertie's Advanced Backgammon had a lot of valuable cube positions (were a majority of his positions for cube decisions?) and both his 1st Ed. and 2nd Ed. preceded Bell and Woolsey.
I must agree that Bell was a huge disappointment, to the level that except for someone completely clueless (note, 'l' and no 'b' :) on how the cube is used in BG, it probably would hurt your game more than help if you blindly followed what was written.
