Yes. The article's comparison to Deep Blue beating Kasparov is misleading. This achievement is not that much bigger than what computer go programs have been already accomplishing in the past couple of years, although it is still an impressive milestone.
It is interesting that Go uses neural nets despite being a complete information game.
More interesting to me is that the programs use "rollouts" even though there is no explicit randomness in go.
