Luck vs Skill

Curious about opinions re % of backgammon that is skill vs % of luck.Does anyone know of any Backgammon book that definitively addresses this issue with an answer. An acquaintence of mine stated that this topic is addressed with answers in many backgammon books. I'm not a gambling person by nature, but, wanted TO bet him on his ludicrous statement that "backgammon is 85 % luck of the dice. His 2nd contention was that this issue is answered in many backgammon books. I have never seen this dilemma answered in any bakgammon book that I have ever read. Thanks,
