Rake?

I never organized a tourney, but I suspect there are many costs (time or organizers, payment for staff, rent tourney venue, equipment rent and depreciation), and the tourney will only earn significant revenues if it succeeds in attracting a lot of players. And the entry fee is not that high, so the "rake" applied matters less.

I've organized four international tournaments so I do have some experience with expenses of a tournament.

And I assure you that 6.000 euros in rake (or tournament-tax, or whatever you want to call it if 'rake' is not appropriate terminology) is not explainable nor justified with tournament costs, 'great city benefit' or 'meeting friends benefit', 'collecting points benefit', etc.

While 120 euros is not that high for entry; 6.000 euros is ridiculously large amount of money.
