After posting, it occurred to me that hotel management might be willing to remove 1 or 2 light bulbs. Otherwise, they might allow one to hang a cloth of some kind that blocks the light at its source. These are simple solutions that could be very effective.

A more elaborate idea is to get one of those camping/outdoor canopies that have a top, and four verticals supports, but no sides. A sign such as "VIP Streaming Area" would lend an air of professionalism. The solid roof, however, would not pass any light, so that idea may be a non-starter.
