I suggest some further change re (1) singular v plural, (2) shortening "is required to", and (3) applying the rule without worrying about whether the clock hit was inadvertent.

"A player with possible legal moves must roll the dice and does not forfeit the turn by hitting the clock prior to rolling the dice."

But if you do want inadvertent, then note the misspelling in the original version.
