Problem with rule 1.6 Communications

In Response To: Problem with rule 1.6 Communications (roadkillbooks)

Here's an example: Team A plays Team B. Team A happens to speak fluent Russian. Team B does not.

When playing Team A has the benefit of hearing the discussion between Team B, and they can extrapolate information, data points, player assessments, and all sorts of information from that discussion.

Team B however is unable to do the same for Team A - as they do not speak Russian, and cannot understand what is being said.

Questions:

1. Team A has a clear advantage that is culturally (language) based over Team B - is that in the spirit of the event? Should they use it? Can they help it if they overhear some critical information? How can you not be affected by that? 2. Team B has a right to the same information and data as Team A - how do you enforce it? 3. Morally, ethically, and whatever other -ally - shouldnt Team A make sure they speak in the official Language only?

I am of the opinion that this shouldnt happen, but it does.
