You have BOTH an advantage and disadvantage. They are not mutually exclusive. Whether the NET of the two is positive or negative, I cannot say. It would be positive for some, negative for others.

Someone who understands no English would have a net of zero. The opposing team can't understand them, but they cannot understand the opposing team. Of course, that person would have a number of BG disadvantages: most books and other reference materials are in English AFAIK; if the TD only speaks English, then disputes are a problem; XG is in English; and so forth. All the more reason to respect a top player who speaks no English!
