I'm not exactly sure where to draw the line

I'm not sure either, nor do I want to draw up a bunch of rules as to what we can and can't do. Consulting a bot to do anything is pretty clearly understood to be verboten. My diagrams are providing the pip count -- nobody should be firing up XG at all to help make a decision.

What's most important is that you do have a sense of what you should and shouldn't do, and let's not go overboard. The prevailing wisdom seems to be: hand rollouts: bad. Setting up a position and seeing how different rolls play: ok.
