Istanbul tournament - FT system

There is no public draw.

Draws are done computerized.

The byes are also computerized and random, out of which 3 criteria can be chosen prioir to the start: byes go randomly to the players with most losses, randomly to the players with most wins, completely randomly. NB: nobody gets another bye as long as all the others remaining in the competition donīt have the same number of byes.

Itīs an individual take on the fact of a tournamnet organizer/director competing himself in the main event. I personally never do. Only in some side-events, maybe. Not sure if there was an official tournament committee on board. Also not sure if there were printed tournament rules in Turkish and/or English language available.

Very few international players were there, if you count out the locals and the surrounding neighbour countries. Even including those, itīs about 15% non-Turkish attendance. Mainly, itīs a Turkish Group with no international ties and mainly focused on their local players in order to establish a government-approved National Federation, which is a diffcult task in Turkey.

Still a nice attempt and well organized.
