Is there a big difference between I thought Nack refused to have his matches recorded (Adam) and Nack prefers not to have matches recorded (Jake)?

Of course the reasons for doing so may be many and not because of fear but the fact remains the same, or not?

Finally, although I tottaly agree with the right of every player to prefer not to have matches recorded I cannot include such a player in my very best players list even if that player has proved in the past that he clearly belongs to the very elite of the backgammon world. The reason is that I simply cannot know if he still deserves to be considered one of the very best, as opposed to other players that prove it every year in practice.
