Even in the later rounds of a major tournament, and even in the finals, you will often see a pretty big difference in skill between the participants. This means that the better player can overcome the luck fact, and also, when you have two opponents of different skill, you may well see both players intentionally changing their game from the technically-correct plays to compensate for the skill differences or what they perceive are the strengths and weaknesses of their particular opponent.
