this is more than a "1-3" backgame --- the opposing bar makes a big difference. the "2-3" backgame is superior when there is a timing problem for the backgamer. Not the case here. Still, I'd play 24/23 for another playable 5. then I'd go for 8/6 as the mid may still be a good point to own (contact with her mid point checkers as well as a potential landing place for our recycling checkers) We must avoid at all costs overloading our containment checkers.
