Ethics

In Response To: Ethics (Brett Meyer)

I personally am sick and tired of these "ethical" questions. Playing backgammon for money... is that "ethical" in the first place? "Go get a job!", some might say. And while you are in your real job, is everything else there "ethical", or will you encounter similar situations as described there as well?

In my opinion, tournaments and other forms of competition have to have some ethics and do´s and dont´s, but in money play, everything counts, except cheating. Money play is beyond competition and as the name indicates, a source for making money. Looking around with your eyes open, you´ll see that in real life, anything legal (and sometimes even illegal) to obtain an edge over your competitor, is fully applied. Why does money play in backgammon have to be any different?
