I've never come across a version of the rules that allow for this and it slows the game a little. Maybe it exists but likely it's a modified home rule game. I played Junior Monopoly last night and someone landed on Free Parking and couldn't believe that there was no money in the middle for her to collect!

The argument that it adds more skill, while true, has been shown to not be a valid argument for it making the game better in games as lowly as even backgammon.

Before rolling, both you and your opponent must announce the number of dice you intend to roll , and you both must roll at the same time.

              • The old U.K. rules are quite clear that the attacker rolls the dice first, then the defender rolls.
