I would never see any difference over the board. Even with your QF warning, I figure I am only about 50/50 to guess right!

If Blue plays safe, it looks like he will have 3 or 4 rolls before his board cracks. White, perhaps 4 or 5. As this stand, White will probably be able to hold out longer than Blue.

When your opponent controls the cube, you are unlikely to be able to win with a cube turn. Therefore, you need to play your checkers to win. Owning the cube gives you a chance to win with a cube turn.

Since Blue is ahead in the race, owning the cube may be enough excuse not to take risks. With the cube on his side, I will try safe play. When White owns the cube, I like paying now.
